Assembly of Headband – ALL SIZES:

At this point there are 3 separate pieces that need to be put together – the headband body, the bow, and the middle piece.

All 3 pieces of the Bow Headband

Now all three pieces are put together.  The first step is to fold and pinch together the middle part of the headband piece.  Make sure to pinch it together at the seam.  It should look something like this:

Now take the 8″ long yarn tails and wrap them around the pinched middle about 4 times.

Tie the 2 tails together on the top side of the headband. Set aside for a minute.

Now, grab the bow piece. Pinch it together in the middle as well. Make sure the seam of the bow is tucked in the middle so that it is hidden once the work is put together.  It should look something like this:

Take the two 8″ thread tails and wrap them around the middle of the bow about 4 times. Tie the 2 tails together into a knot on the back side of the bow.

Attaching the Bow to the Headband:

Now all 3 of the pieces need to be put together.  The first thing to do is take the bow and center it over the folded part of the headband piece.  Take the thread tails from the headband and bring them up and tie a knot on top of the bow.

Now wrap the yarn down to the back side of the headband and tie another knot.  Next we take the 2 thread tails from the bottom of the bow and wrap them down to the back side of the headband piece as well.  Tie them in a knot on the back of the headband piece.  There should now be 4 thread tails on the back side of the headband.

With the tapestry needle, weave the thread ends into the headband piece.  Clip off excess.

Now take the middle piece and place it over the middle of the bow.  Tighten and wrap the ends of the middle piece to the inside of the headband. Using the tapestry needle, sew the 2 ends of the middle piece together. (This middle piece covers the area where the headband and bow are pinched together).
